7 things to check when booking a hair appointment
Booking is the easy part; the real goal is leaving with the result you wanted. Here are seven things worth checking when you book a hair appointment.
1. Pick the service precisely
"Haircut" and "haircut + blow-dry" take different amounts of time. If you choose the right service when booking online, the salon reserves enough time and nobody has to rush.
2. Consider choosing your stylist
Many salons have several people offering the same service. If you were happy with someone before, choose them; if it doesn't matter, "no preference" shows more open times.
3. Look at photos and reviews
Photos, the service list and other customers' reviews tell you about the salon's style. Focus on topics that repeat across reviews rather than a single compliment or complaint.
4. Show what you want with photos
"A bit shorter" means something different to everyone. Bringing a photo of the style you like (and one of your current hair) greatly reduces misunderstandings. If you are planning colour or chemical treatments, mention previous treatments such as dye, bleach or straightening.
5. Know the cancellation terms
Every business sets its own free-cancellation period. If your plans change, cancel or move the booking before it passes so the slot can go to someone else.
6. Plan realistic timing
Colour, highlights and treatments take a long time. If you have a meeting right afterwards, leave some buffer.
7. On the day: arrive early and ready
Don't weigh your hair down with unnecessary products and leave the work area comfortable for your stylist. Check your reminder message and tell the salon if you are running late.
